Niklas and Ashlee met online during spring 2021. After one simple conversation, it didn’t take much for Nik to know, that he wanted to learn more about Ashlee. For months after they talked all day everyday, as it was a routine, until Niklas decided he wanted to meet. Niklas made his way to Eugene, Oregon December 2021 to meet Ashlee for the first time. After that, he had been visiting her a total of 10 times in the past 4 years.

After Ashlee lost her mom in November 2022, it was very difficult to navigate a long distance relationship in time of grief, but they stayed true to one another and Ashlee finally made her way to Sweden in December 2023 with her family. While spending the holiday season in Sweden, the trip we made to Lulea was memorable as Niklas proposed to Ashlee in the backdrop of snowy trees and mountains. It was winter magic. Ashlee, of course said YES and... Here we are!
